Meet AnnMarie

I have had my share of stumbling blocks, health and relationship challenges, anxieties and worries. Some problems were small, some were big and others were seemingly insurmountable. I'd often wonder, “Am I doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result?"  Albert Einstein called that kind of behavior insanity.  Well, I don't know about you but I'd like to live my life with as much sanity, good health and happiness as I can.

As a Nationally Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach, I am qualified to walk alongside you and support you on your wellness journey.  The American Medical Association defines a health coach as a non-physician health care professional certified by the NBHWC (National Board of Health and Wellness Coaches). The NBHWC and the NBME (National Board of Medical Examiners) have collaborated on developing coach training standards. I’m proud to say that I’ve attained that gold standard.  I am also an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach (Institute of Integrative Nutrition) and a Certified Gluten-Free Practitioner through Dr. Tom O’Bryan.

So why did I choose to become a health and wellness coach?  Perhaps it chose me.  My own wellness story includes being diagnosed with Lyme’s Disease and Celiac Disease. I've watched family members suffer from gastrointestinal issues progress into various forms of dementia (make note here of the gut-brain connection), and I suffered alongside my child who was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 5 who had a 2 ½ year treatment protocol. That’s just a sampling of my story; but, the point I would like to make is…I understand that life can be a challenge. It’s important to know that just because something is challenging doesn’t make it impossible. Often these experiences can be considered and overcome by looking at it as just another page in our own story.  Trust me when I say there were days when getting out of bed took more strength and courage than I would like to admit. It wasn’t easy to break the cycles but it sure was worth it!

My experiences lead me to dive headfirst into how to make lifestyle improvements and create a healthier home environment.  By taking a close look at foods, eating habits and patterns, and even household items and products, I uncovered multiple ways to improve our physical and mental health, and balance the gut microbiome. Managing stress with physical movement and a strong prayer life, I believe I found what worked best for me and for my family.  It’s vital to mention that all this is just my story.  Your story will look and sound a lot different and will include goals and motivations that aren’t even mentioned here. The important thing to note is that by activating your motivation, improving your understanding and increasing your knowledge, you can make things happen and change for the better!
